Nestled along the remote and rugged Cuchumatanes mountain range, this coffee reflects the dedication of smallholder farmers who cultivate their crops on steep, high-altitude slopes reaching up to 2,000 meters. While Huehuetenango is uniquely non-volcanic, hot winds blowing from Mexico’s Tehuantepec plains shield the high-altitude crops from frost, creating a protected microclimate that allows the cherries to mature slowly and develop intense density. With its traditional washed process, the result is a remarkably clean, structured cup that highlights a vibrant green apple acidity, a smooth sweetness of caramel and milk chocolate, and a touch of complex floral aromas. A true expression of Guatemala’s most celebrated coffee-growing region.
